Rees Morgan(s) Lampeter 1871 census

I'm trying to trace Rees Morgan(s) in the 1871 census. In future census he always gave the place of birth as Lampeter. His age would have been about 10 years old at the time, and on his wedding certificate his father was named as Rees Morgan also, with the occupation of 'Farmer'. No Registration Office in the area could come up with a birth certificate linking the two names. Any help with a census result would be very much appreciated.

Have you got a reference for him in one of the other censuses?

Hi,
1881 census RG11/5390. Journeyman Tailor, Cambrian Place, Llandilo. Carmarthenshire. Aged 18.
25 Nov 1882. Marriage Cert. Tailor of Quay Street, Llandilo. Aged 21 (?) Father Rees Morgan, farmer.
1891 census RG12/4511. Tailor of Towy Terrace, Llandilo-fawr. Aged 27.
1901 census RG13/5067. Tailor of 28, High Street, Gorseinon, Llandilotalybont, West Glamorgan. Aged 37.

So we can assume that he lied about his age on his marriage certificate. But he always gave his place of birth as Lampeter, Cardiganshire.
No registration offices can find a record of his birth with the father that's stated.

What an elusive character!  The only Rees Morgan of the right age I can find is this one - RG10/5569/30/5.  I'm sure you already have that one.

I had come across the family at Gartheli, but put it aside as there were too many inconsistencies, especially with the ages of the children. I'll have to work on this family to see what I can come up with. Many thanks for your input.

I've just found that the Rees Morgans of Gartheli, wasn't my great grandfather after all. This one was still at home with his family in 1881, at Tregarron, Llangeithio. Whilst my Rees was a tailor in Llandilo. Carmarthenshire in 1881. So back to the drawing board. Thanks anyhow for your input.
