Hi Norrie,  Just wondering if there are any MI's for Glancy/Glancey especially Philip Glancy/ey died 11-3-1903 Lathalmond, Dunfermline and his wife Ann Wallace died 10 Mar 1927 Dunfermline, Fife.   That's just a start.

Hi would you be kind enough to to do a look up for any Laurie/Lawrie or Reids ancestors  in Dunfermline?  Robert Laurie died 1826, wife was Margaret Crawford Lawrie died unknown,   ggg g/mother Isabella Reid (ms) Laurie/Lawrie died 1869 and husband Andrew Reid died pre 1841 and any other Laurie's or Reids you might have I would be interested in finding.

Many thanks.

Sorry nothing in index for Andrew Reid & Isabella Lawrie

The FFHS  pre 1855 death index gives
Robert Lawrie Dunfermline died 12.6.1826 age 83
Husband of Margaret Crawford who died 11.3.1799
Age 54
From Mitchells Monumental inscriptions

Father: Andrew Reid, Mother: Isabella Lawrie

1. AGNES REID - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Birth: 05 MAY 1820 Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland

 2. MAGDALEN REID - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Birth: 20 JUN 1822 Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland

 3. MARGARET CRAWFORD REID - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Christening: 12 JUL 1812 Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland

This is an inscription from Dunfermline Cemetery, could be one of children,
Do you know who other children married.
Or what about any children of Robert & Margaret.
Need 2 names eg Peter  Lawrie & Elizabeth Purvis

394   in memory of James BRVCE died 29.9.1901 age 86
wife Magdalane REID died 17.1.1909? age 86

Norrie, thank you so much for your quick reply with all the info you gave me.  I've been searching for Margaret Crawford's (who is my 4th great grandmother) death for some time and couldn't seem to find it on scotlandspeople.  Magdalene Reid who you mentioned and who married James Bruce is also one of my Reids but I didn't know when she died so that bit of info  very helpful also.  I didn't know about the Agnes Reid born 1820 to Andrew Reid and Isabella Lawrie, will have to look into her.  Haven't come across a Peter Lawrie and Elizabeth Purvis but a couple of Magdalene Reid and James Bruce's children had Purvis as middle names so there is no doubt a connection there.

Andrew Reid and Isabella Lawrie were probably buried in another cemetery in Dunfermline but not familiar on those or how many there are in the town.  They had another daughter Ann Ross Reid (married name Morris) who died about 1864 and a son John Ross Reid who died between 1844 and 1849 but he lived in Edinburgh and may have died and been buried there.

Other children of Robert Laurie and Margaret Crawford were: Magdalene Laurie,  Robert Laurie born 1781, David Laurie, William and James Laurie.

Any info on any of them would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again.

Karen
