Can someone please check the details on the 1871 census [RG10/5584/99/35]. 

My great-great grandfather Thomas Brewer, born Devon and according to family oral history came to Wales in the early 1800s to Rhymney where he was employed at the local ironworks.  On the 1851 and 1861 census Thomas is listed at Plympton St Mary, Devon and Anthony St Jacob, Cornwall respectively with wife Elizabeth and family.  Thomas arrived in Wales earlier than stated for I have him located on the 1871 census at an address transcribed as Rhymney Old Furnace Cottages, Llangunider, Breconshire.  He gave his occupation as that of Railway Labourer. 

I am curious about the address which to me reads as “Rhymney Old Furnace Cottages”, was there such an address in Llangynidr? or could it have been in Rhymney for there was a row of cottages called Furnace Houses at the Iron Works in Rhymney adjacent to the Furnace.  Today’s road maps record the distance between Rhymney and Llangynidr as 12 miles; could it be possible for the two villages to be in the same parish in 1871?

The original form says Rhymney and Old Furnace Cottages.
The top line of the form (Parish, Town etc) has not been filled in 

Thomas (Brower according to FindMyPast!) was born in Cheriton, Devon.
