1851 - Liverpool lookup please, HOWARD

Would some kind person with access to the 1851 census for the Liverpool area kindly do a lookup for me please.

I'm researching William Howard who was born in Liverpool (possibly West Derby) in 1847.

On his marriage certificate, August 1871, his age was given as 24 and his father's name as Thomas. Unfortunately, both Thomas and William Howard were fairly numerous in Liverpool and there were several William Howards born in Liverpool/West Derby in the relevant period of 1846/7.

In 1881 William was living in St John's Road, Kirkdale and there was a Thomas Howard living in the same road who could have been his father. Thomas was living with his married daughter Cecily Thompson. Cecily is a family name and William had also named one of his daughters Cecily.

I'd be really grateful if someone could help with this as I live in the West Midlands and am unable to do research 'on the spot'. The staff at the Liverpool Registrar's Office are obviously swamped and unable to be as helpful as the staff at some offices in smaller areas unless one has exactly the right info.

Many thanks for the info on the Howard family. I was in Australia throughout September and early October and so have only recently picked it up.

I'll keep this in case it fits into my records somewhere but I don't think this is the William Howard I'm looking for. I'd love it to be correct but I'm quite certain the one I'm searching for was born in 1847 and this one appears to have been born 1850ish.

The problem is that there were just so many Howards even then, particularly in Lancashire and Yorkshire. There were several William Howards born in the Liverpool/W Derby area round about 1847 but I've no idea what his mother's name was and so have no idea which is the correct one. I know they were staunch Roman Catholics but probably many other Howard families were too.
