Hi lnr :)

You have been given a lot of information on your Australian board thread about this same topic:

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,538615.0.html

Including these entries from the State Library NSW index:
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,538615.msg3925506.html#msg3925506
A family tree is included in those papers.

Cheers

According to Sir Walter Scott himself, Andrew Murray was NOT his Nephew.

Rather; Andrew Murray was a Labourer working at Abbotsford for Sir Walter
who stated that Andrew had potential regarding Gardening and Horticulture
so Walter then recommended Andrew Murray to the right circles. He studied
horticulture after that and traveled New South Wales and worked for John Macarthur
initially. After that he worked at the Royal Botanical Gardens etc etc. Andrew built a home
on acres near to Pennant Hills in Sydney at Beecroft. This house was afterwards also owned
by Murray relatives of his who also came from Melrose to Sydney. The house is still visible
from the street however a motorway passes close by.

Andrew was the son of David Murray and Christian Buchan.
