Mahan Family from Carrigallen
« on: Sunday 19 June 11 08:24 BST (UK) »
Looking for any family members of Archibald Mahan, his father was Arthur Mahan mother ??  Archibald was born 1834 at Carrigallen, County Leitrim and was a school master.

He married Mary Jane Cody at County Longford and then emmirgrated to New Zealand in 1874.  He had a family of 13 children in NZ

Does anyone know if there were other family members, brothers or sisters of Archibald Mahan

Hi my name is Colin Mahon (originally spelt Mahan but changed to Mahon). Archibald would have been a brother to Arthur Mahon. Arthur's son and daughter Archibald and Isobella also emigrated to New Zealand. I've also been in contact with Mahans that emigrated to USA. I would love to hear from you.

Regards Colin

Hi donna,
wow! it seems somewhere we might be related - i remember reading 3 mahan daughters married 3 shaw borthers. if you have a look on ancestory.com you will see pictures of archilbald and some of the shaws- thats if you don't have any photos. there are also a few people who on that web site that might be related to the Shaw's if you are looking for other connections.

I have been trying for years to piece what little i know :)  i thought i was the only Mahan left. I am very keen to keep talking :)

Hi new to all this but there may well be quite a few more relatives have been helping my husband with his family tree and Archibald is his Great Great Grandfather, we are based in Christchurch New Zealand and would like to know more. Robert Mahan from Oamaru would have been my husbands great Grandfather.
