Leonard/Cronin marriage/birth Co Kerry
« on: Thursday 23 June 11 16:07 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I am appealing to all the experts on Rootschat forum for help in tracing a marriage for
Elias Leonard ( various spellings Lennard/ Lenard etc) and
Catherine Cronin ( again various spellings Croneen etc) approximately  1846.   As Elias is an unusual christian name it might be a bit easier to trace.  I did find a few Elias Leonard/Lenards as sponsors to baptisms on www.irishgenealogy.ie site.  They were in the Causeway area of Co Kerry.  It is possible that Elias was short for Cornelius.

I would love to find a baptism for their daughter Ellen born  1847.   They emigrated to the US in  1850.

I know it is a very difficult search without an exact parish/townland.

Anyone out there have Cronin/Leonards in their ancestors???

Would anybody know where I could go to look up the Causeway records ( without having to travel to Dublin)??

Would the library in Tralee have any church records??

I might be on the wrong track but worth a try.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Mary
