Anyone with any information about David Colborne born 1885 in Birr County Offally or any of the following people. His parents were David and Alice (nee  Hyland) They were living in Kilcolman Parish, Cree in the 1901 census. David and Alice's other children were John, Florence, Fredrick, Mary, Alice, Thomas, Albert, Emily and Anna. David moved to County Durham,England around 1905 to work as a stone mason and married Mary Jane Moss. Any information would be welcome.   betsdale

This appears to be the family on the 1901 census :

Colbourne household - townland of Cree

Husband David born in King's Co., wife Alice born Queen's Co., eldest child born c1880, and all children born in King's Co. So presumably a marriage for David and Alice would be about 1879 or earlier, and possibly in either King's or Queens county.

Thank you for your reply's to my request. They have been very helpful. I have visited the Register Office in Dublin and was lucky with births but ran out of time for David and Alice's wedding and had not managed to find information anywhere else. I now have some more information to work on.  Ann

Thank you for information about the Irish Civil Register and Samuel Colborne. Samuel may be a relative. I do know that David Colborne my grandfather was enrolled for a period of time in the Canadian Army. It is given me more ideas for research.  Ann
