1811 Birth Records (Pennal)
« on: Saturday 25 June 11 20:23 BST (UK) »
Hi to all Rootchatters,
Would anyone happen to know where I would be able to find any birth records for my Gt Gt Grandfather a Hugh Angel, who was born in Pennal, Mereionethshire in 1811, as I am not sure whether there was only one church or many chapels in Pennal at that time.
Many thanks,
Retpara.

Possibly with the rector of Pennal church? He has a few records, I think.
I live in Pennal... Do you know where he lived?

Hi Manonros,
Thank you for showing interest, I'm sorry The very first information I have is off the 1841 census showing my Gt Gt Grandfather at the age of 30 living at a farm called Castell Fawr in the township of Bodgadfan, (Rhoslefain), Nr Llangelynin and his birthplace was Pennal in which he states on every census thereafter. That would roughly make his birth-date about 1811, his death was in 1885 living in Ty-Croes farm next to Castell Fawr, this farm was where he lived with his family for the remainder of his life.
I would be very much indebted to you if you could supply any info regarding the Pennal connection, as hoping later in the summer to make a visit to the Pennal and Llanegryn area's as a type of pilgimage in respect to my ancestors.
Best wishes,
Retpara.
