**COMPLETED** Swanage area marriage c1796-1807 - MUSSELWHITE
« on: Sunday 26 June 11 01:05 BST (UK) »
Hi can anyone please help me find the marriage of the following:

PETER MUSSELWHITE to SOPHIA

He was born in Swanage in 1778 and they had a daughter Caroline in Swanage in 1808. The family later moved to Woolwich in Kent.

However they do not appear to have married in Swanage so if anyone might have any ideas where this marriage might have taken place I would be most grateful.

The surname is sometimes found as Mustlewhite, Muslewhite and Muslwhite.

Thanks,
Jon

I have just found this marriage on the new familysearch!

Peter Musselwhite married Sophia Benfield at Plumstead, Kent, on 23 July 1807.

I was surprised as their daughter Charlotte was born in Swanage in 1808 so assumed they must have married in Dorset.

I have also now found the baptism of their daughter Caroline (incorrectly in the register as Burdon [Peter's mother's maiden name - perhaps his middle name] with 'Michel White' as a middle name) in Woolwich in 1816.

This shows Peter was a Stone Mason.

Regards,
Jon
