Headstone pictures CAMBUSNETHAN CHURCHYARD WISHAW
« on: Sunday 26 June 11 21:45 BST (UK) »
I have photographs of headstones from Cambusnethan Churchyard at Greenhead Road (not the ancient burial ground at Kirkhill). If anyone requires a copy, please contact me by PM and include your email address. The names in upper-case are the principal surnames on the stone, (usually Husband + Wife). The names in lower-case are Christian names and placenames. Where there is only one surname, I have tried to add at least one Christian name.

This thread is purely for requests of photos for this particular cemetery and any new genealogical research post should move to a new thread

Hi Heather, here it is. The inscription reads -
"1845 Erected by James McKinlay in memory of Mary McNeil his spouse who died 11th December 1844 aged 25 years".

According to the burial records, there are at least 4 more in that plot (the records are not complete)

MARY McKINLAY, aged 16 years. Interred 3rd September 1886.
WILLIAM McKINLAY, aged 65 years. Interred 31st March 1895.
MARGARET McKINLAY, aged 59 years. Interred 31st May 1895.
EDWARD McKINLAY, aged 74 years. Interred 29th March 1906.

Hi Lodger,
I am interested in quite a number of the headstone pics that you have listed and would be grateful to have a copy.
However, if there are too many to send, my (Top 3) priority would be:
BROWNLEE & RUSSELL.
BROWNLIE & GOURLAY.
DOUGLAS & BROWNLEE.
If it wasn't a problem to send all then my interests are:
BROWNLEE & YOUNG
BAILLIE & REID.
BROWNLEE & GARDENER.
BROWNLEE & DAVIDSON.
FERGUSON & BROWNLIE.
HALLIDAY & BROWNLIE.
McCARTNEY & CUNNINGHAM.
RUSSELL & THOMSON.
SCOTT, GRAY, BROWNLIE & EGLINGTON - Springhill.
SKEAD & BROWNLEE.
SMITH & BROWNLIE.
SMITH & HAMILTON
SMITH & WYLLIE.
SMITH, HAMILTON & BROWNLIE - Crindledyke.
YOUNG & REID.
Do you have these on a website to view?
All the very best, Ian Brownlee (*)

Hi Lodger

Am looking for info on the Watt family from Cambusnethan during the 1800's and noticed you have info on some gravestones from the church where my Grandmother has told me some of them were buried.

Would appreciate it if you could send images of the gravestones to me via email -

Thanks, Andrew
