Thanks, Lodger, this is very helpful. It is actually what I remember seeing, and was mistaken about reference to the John Cairns, who died in 1876, on the stone.  I’m afraid I have no documentation on the other individuals you ask about.

Hi JPF, welcome to Rootschat. If these are the correct families I will try to find more information in the burial records and will, weather permitting, try to obtain better photographs.
The Hutton stone is a large obelisk, there just seems to be the 2 interments, the Rev & his wife. She died in 1899.
The Reid & Gardner (John & Isabella) stone may be the one you want, there is another stone on the same plot also with Reid & Gardner (Robert & Euphemia), a third stone on that plot has the names Reid & Kitch. I only have the John & Isabella one photographed but, if you are sure that this is the family you are researching, I will go and have a look at the plot, there may be other stones there that have been broken since the inscriptions were recorded in 1983.

The Reid & Gardener inscription is -
"Erected by John Reid and Isabella Gardener his spouse in memory of their daughter Isabella who died 28th February 1813. John Reid died 2nd September 1854 aged 79 years. Isabella Gardener died 16th December 1821 aged 44 years. Their eldest son John Reid died 2nd January 1867 aged 68 years".

Paterson, Torrance, Gilchrist - Hamilton Lanarkshire.
McCallum - Oban, McKechnie - Ross of Mull Argyll.
Scrim - Perthshire.
Liddell - Polmont,
Binnie - Muiravonside Stirlingshire.
Curran, McCafferty, Stevenson, McCue - Co Donegal
Gibbons, Weldon - Co Mayo.
Devlin - Co Tyrone.
Leonard - County Donegal & Glasgow.

Hi Lodger

Thank you for the photos, & for offering to get better pics.  The REID / GARDNER stone was speculative, & turns out not to be of my family, so I won't need anything further on that one.

However, I would love an improved version of the Rev HUTTON stone.

You probably know these cemeteries inside out: a couple of years ago I stumbled across an image of the John (Excelsior Iron & Steel Works) & Sarah WILLIAMS memorial on flicker.  And I thought it said it was from Cambusnethan Old Churchyard.  However, it doesn't feature on your list of headstones or, that of Kirkhill.

I'm also trying to find a headstone for their son John (died 1932) & his wife Katherine (died 1922). They resided at Overdale House, Manse Road, Wishaw.

Have they been destroyed or, are they buried elsewhere?

Any help greatly appreciated.

The reason you couldn't find John & Sarah Williams in Cambusnethan Old Churchyard is because they are not buried there. They are next door in the little Walled Burial Ground which was opened by a burial company in 1861. It would have been expensive to buy a plot there, it lies between the old churchyard and the municipal cemetery (which also dates from 1861).
John & Sarah owned plots 50 & 51 which are against the wall, so they would have been more expensive. The burial records have survived, here's the details for 50 & 51.

SARAH WILLIAMS, housewife, The Green, Wishaw. Aged 71 years, married.
Parents - Joseph Rice & Mary Stone.
interred in 50 on 1st August 1891.

ROBERT WILLIAMS, Ironmaster, The Green, Wishaw. Aged 47 years, unmarried.
parents - John Williams & Sarah Rice.
interred in 50, 26th October 1895.

JOHN WILLIAMS, Ironmaster, Wolverhampton. Aged 76 years, widower.
Parents - Robert Williams & Eleanor Williams.
Interred in 50, 18th February 1898.

MARY ANN WILLIAMS, daughter, England. Aged 19 years, unmarried.
Parents - - - - - Williams.
Interred in 51, 19th December 1870.

Paterson, Torrance, Gilchrist - Hamilton Lanarkshire.
McCallum - Oban, McKechnie - Ross of Mull Argyll.
Scrim - Perthshire.
Liddell - Polmont,
Binnie - Muiravonside Stirlingshire.
Curran, McCafferty, Stevenson, McCue - Co Donegal
Gibbons, Weldon - Co Mayo.
Devlin - Co Tyrone.
Leonard - County Donegal & Glasgow.
