There isn't anything in the churchyard of Hamilton MIs for this family, or in the baptism records for the 1st Relief church, sorry.
According to the 1851 census index, Abraham was aged 31 and born in Hamilton, Margaret was also aged 31 and born in Blantyre parish. Their 3 children, Helen aged 4, Ann aged 2 and Thomas aged 4 months were all born in Hamilton. If Abraham & Margaret died in Scotland after 31st December 1854 there parents names, if known to the informant, will be on their death certificates.

Hi Shaun, there are 2 stones together on one plot, the pictures are not too good but if you are sure this is the family you are looking for I can go back and take a few more showing the surrounding area.
The transcriptions are - "Erected by James Brounlee and Mary Gardener in memory of their children James, Jane and Margaret who died in the month of October 1811. Betty Brounlee their daughter died 11th November 1821 aged 16 years. Margaret Brounlee their daughter died 15th May 1822 aged 4 years".

"James Brounlee son of James Brounlee and Mary Gardener died 26th September 1822 aged 8 years. Grizel Brounlee their daughter died 1st April 1824 aged 3 years. Mary Gardener died 10th February 1828 aged 47 years. Their daughter Janet died 6th December 1829 aged 17 years. Alexander Brounlee died 1st February 1835 aged 16 months. Alexander Brounlee died 19th July 1842 aged 3 years. James Brounlee died 26th March 1843 aged 73 years".

According to the records there are at least another seven adults and one child in this plot, the last entry is for David Brownlie aged 68 years, interred on 6th December 1948.

I wonder if this is the Brownlie family who farmed at Headlesscross?

Wow thankyou so much for your quick response Lodger. No please dont go out of your way for me as I am not 100% sure these are the right people for my family.

Basically my great great grandfather called James Gardener lived in Jeanfield house in Glasgow as a young child with his father Andrew Gardener/Gardiner. When the land was sold to become a cemetary I believe that Andrew Gardiner moved to hos wifes fathers farm in cambusnethan, called foulsykes farm. His wife was originally a ford. And it was here in 1951 that my family, Andrew Gardiner and his son James Gardiner lived on Foulsykes farm along with a clad Brownlee and another Brownlee whose name i cant remember.

So it was just a hunch that these two names might have cross over at some point whilst living there.

I dont think it was long until Andrew moved back to Glasgow

Hi Lodger,

I'd be grateful if you could post a pic of the CAIRNS, POLLOCK, McCREADIE & McKENDRICK headstone.

Jane McKendrick was one of seven illegitimate children that her mother, Helen McKendrick had in Wishaw between 1855 and 1871. I'm on the look out for any information I can find that might indicate who the father was.

I see you've posted information from other sources her, so I'd be very interested in anything you have on Helen McKendrick b.1839 d.1893 and Jemima McKendrick b. 1869.

Thanks for all your hard work on this thread,
Andy

@ Lodger,  Dr Mark Jardine is seeking the grave of Covenenter Arthur Inglis who is buried at Old Cambusnethan for his website,  "Jardine's Book of Martyrs"  the monument was there in 1960 but may have been vandalised. He can be contacted  here,             https://@drmarkjardine       or at
