Sarah COOPER

My g-g-g grandparents were Samuel PARNELL and Sarah COOPER married 1803 in Ashwell.  What I am trying to solve is the problem of Sarah's birth and parents.  On the IGI there are two records (both with parents Francis COOPER & Mary [Freeman]), one shows her being christened at Ashwell 11 Aug 1776 and the other being 'born' 19 July 1776 at Oakham Baptist.  There are six subsequent children all 'born' at Oakham Baptist to Francis & Mary.

My question is, is Sarah one and the same person.  I'm hoping that someone with a greater knowledge of the Rutland area and the workings of the Baptist Church may be able to assist me please.

I am no expert on Rutland parish registers, but I can tell you that OAKHAM  parish is
only 2.6 miles south by southwest of ASHWELL parish.
It is possible that Francis Cooper was a farm labourer working at various farms depending on
crop harvest and it was more convenient to have the christening at the nearest church to him
at the time.

Francis and Mary appear to have died and were buried at the following parish:

Mary COOPER
Aged: 64
Rutland
Empingham, St Peter

9 Apr 1847
Francis COOPER
Aged: 89
Rutland
Empingham, St Peter

Epingham parish is 6.4 miles south by east of Ashwell.

Saddles, not sure that the Francis and Mary you have given the deaths for is the right couple.   That would make Mary 7 years old when she had my Sarah I think.  And I have a Francis & Mary Freeman getting married in Ashwell in 1775 which points to Sarah being their first born in 1776.

The births I have for Francis Cooper and Mary Freeman, which may or may not be right, are for Francis 1750 in Tixover and for Mary 1749 in Ashwell.

Trish, you have hit on my dilemma as Sarah seems to be noted twice, if it is just one person??  Then Francis & Mary went on to have more kids done at the Baptist Church in Oakham.
