1851 Census Bathgate
« on: Tuesday 15 June 04 09:41 BST (UK) »
Is someone able to do a look-up in 1851 census for Bathgate, please?  Searching for:

1) Isabella Taylor, aged 25, born in Glasgow, unmarried, hopefully with her parents John and Isabella.  Father John was allegedly a soldier.  Would love to know their ages and birth-places.  Also any other siblings or relatives present. So far unable to trace Isabella's birth or her mother's maiden name.

2) Only a vague possibility this one, (he should be in Kilwinning if the info is correct, but you never know) Robert Hunter aged 35, born Galashiels, unmarried, occupation minister.

This couple married in Bathgate in November 1851.

Thanks

Nell

Hi Nell,
The only Isabella Taylor I see is indeed 25, but is daur to a Christian Taylor, age 70.  She was born in Glasgow, but if you're sure your Isabella's father was John, I don't think this can be her.  The two of them are the only ones in this household.

Let me know if I can do anything else.

Leslie
