My wife and I were there in 2004.  If you go from
Langholm to Craigcleuch and on to Westerkirk, there was a sign that pointed north to Glendinning Hope.  At the end of the road was a farm (Glendinning Hope).  The owner, when he found out that I was a Clendenon, invited me in and gave a real short tour of the place.  He pointed to a ravine to the east where they had been mining in the past,  He said it was now closed by the officials because of safety reasons.  He was very friendly,  It truly was a highlight!
