Hi Jaz, looks kike a difficult one as there were 3 Edward Jones births registered in 1848 in Aberystwyth.   I was only able to look at the 1881 census and there were 3 likely candidates, although none were shown as actually have been born in Aber.   The first was a well sinker in a coalmine in south Wales born Pontrhydfendigaid, the second a coal miner born Gwarfelin, Cardigan and the third a lead miner living in Llanfihangel y Creuddyn bornLlanfil, Cardigan.

His residence in 1876 at Ty Bach, Capel, would this be Capel Bangor?   If so he probly was a lead miner working the mines close by.

Hopefully someone with access to more records could come up with a census record in 1851 or 1861 when he probably would have been living with hia parents.

Dave

Hi Omega1,
yes, it is the Edward Jones, fathers name says Gruffu Jones occ. miner, i wish they would photo copy them as some R0`s do it would be a bit easier, i think it should be Griffith Jones maybe i will ring them to be sure,a winess was Morgan Jones so maybe a brother to Edward,

Hi Jaz

Your not a pain BUT my senior moments are ::)

I am having trouble finding Edward on the 1871,unless at the time he was a Coachman.

Also cant find Edward & Margaret on the 1881.

I found an Edward & Margaretta but the Edward was a Vicar !!!!!!!!!!!

You maybe interested in this from the 1851
