BENNETT family of Birmingham - marble masons

Good evening all,

I am seeking information on George Henry BENNETT, born circa. 1860, of Latimer Street in Birmingham. He was a stone and marble mason and married to Sarah (whose maiden name MAY have been Marten/Martin). Children were Albert, Alice, Alfred, George, Sarah, Lillian and Frederick. This information I have gleaned from a marriage certificate of his daughter Lillian, and the 1891 and 1901 census. A stepson named John BETTS (born circa. 1875) is also listed on the 1891 census, employed as a brass worker.

I would love to learn more about the family, so any information will be greatly appreciated. My family knows nothing of the history, and I would really like to find out some more details for them.

Both really! I only know that Lillian married and came out to Australia. I do not know anything at all about the other BENNETT family members.

according to the 1891 census his wife was born in pershore worcs in 1857

George Bennett b.1888 married Elsie Payne,8/5/1915 & lived at 213 Irving St.Occ: marble maker.

Here's the only George Henry Bennett I could find in the online Warwickshire Parish Registers; the date and the place are close but don't match exactly.  However, ages are sometimes off and I've been lead astray previously by a child being born in one location but baptised in his mother's parish!

Hi my name is Paul Bennett My GG Grandfather was George Bennett 1860 in later life was a Marble Mason in Birmingham along with His son Alfred Bennett, His Wife Sarah Ann Bennett 1856 nee Sarah Holland from Pershore  Worcestershire 1871 Sarah married Roland Betts had two sons John and Charles after Sarah Betts husband died She remarried George Bennett they had a number of Children one of which was my G Grandmother Alice Bennett 1885, She gave birth to My Grandfather Fredrick Bennett 1900 as Alice was not married George and Sarah took on there Grandchild in the 1901 census Fredrick was named as there son but really there grand son, I have not found any record yet to the Father of Fredrick Bennett 1900 but I have been led to believe He was from Indian, Fredrick went on to marry Fanny Branston 1897 in Birmingham 1919 He served in the Royal Dorset's Reg in 1918 first world war My Father Fredrick William Bennett 1920 1996 was His first son George and Alfred born later in the 1920'S
