The Medal Reunited Project - Update
« on: Saturday 14 May 11 15:57 BST (UK) »
Hey,

I have today uploaded the first 60  WW1 medals located.  You can view the list at https://web.archive.org/web/20130222040617/http://www.uvgenealogy.co.uk/29701.html
Moderator Comment: This is an archived link as that website no longer exists.

I am updating still as we speak and aim to have the locations of over 100 medals, searchable by Surname or Service number by the end of today.

Ill update as often as possible.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.  I have not revealed the locations of these medals and you will need to contact me for further information regarding this.

This project is not a commercial enterprise so i am trying to limit any potential advertising conflict, hence the reason for not revealing current owners of these medals.

Cheers

Nikw

I think I may be in the process or reuniting a set from here...Not one of mine unfortunately though...

Very nice...

The Medal Reunited Project Update

The project has now reached over 1000 medals in its first week.  We were also lucky enough to reunite a medal within 48 hours of the list going live!

We have also launched an alert system,  sign up to our mailing list and provide names you are interested in and we will alert you with matches.

We are also now working to support Help for Heroes through a small finders fee and encouraging donations for our services.

You can view more details on the website

Thank you

I have a set of five medals - the 3 WW1 (star has 1914-15) and both the KGV Jubilee and the KGVI coronation.

Unfortunately whoever held these has obliterated the personal details on the 3 WW1 medals.

Is it possible to trace who would have been awarded both Kings medals or will the owner remain unknown.

It was not a member of my family.

Project does not appear to be accepting new members. So am searching for the stolen medals of Pvte Owen Wilfred Vaughan 1st/1st Herts Regt service nbr 265967 on his return from POW camp was in the 2nd Batt Essex Regt service nbr 202832. Resided at The Lodge North Rd, Goldings Technical College, Hertford.

I have his brother's medals (KIA 15th Sept 1916), his son's W.W. II medals and his grandson's 1960's medal (mine).

Would desperately like to purchase to complete the collection again.

Im trying to retrace some medals stolen from me while i lived in norfolk uk
by the name of "Timbers O J) essex reg , bn Bacton.
Not sure what to do or were to start to retrieve them as it seems that it was over 15 yrs ago
Only just came to light since started doing family tree .
These are of sentimental value as a sad story happened
They were probably sold many years ago at a car-boot sale or flea market
If anyone could help i would be very grateful.
