Nothing stands out in Stedham (or Chithurst) for Knights that might link to the folks in Iping. Looking for a William Knight born somewhere around 1730. I note that there is a long line of Knights in Stedham, however. Probably a link there but nothing stands out in the parish records. I will keep this family name in mind while I do my Ayling researches and let you know if anything comes up. Cheers!

Thank you, atm I only have one Ayling, Mary, who marries in on a sideline so I haven't really investigated further.
