Missing Broomhams!!
« on: Thursday 28 July 11 15:46 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I am wondering if anyone can find this family in 1841 (please!!!!)

William Broomham (Bromham), was born in Wilcot, Wiltshire around 1823 and married Elizabeth Moody in 1843.

However, I can't find find him with his family on the 1841 census.
I suspect his father was Thomas Broomham, born 1793 in Woodborough, Wiltshire and his mother was Maria Chamberlain, born around the same time in All Cannings.
The pair can be found on the 1851 census, along with a son, Charles, born about 1825, and his wife, Mary Ann, and daughter, Martha.
Thomas, again, can be found in 1861 still residing in Stanton St Bernard, with Charles and Mary Ann.
Thomas was a shoemaker, as was William, but I can't find either family on the 1841 census, where I'm hoping to find them both together.

Also, William died in 1901 (March quarter), but I'm also unable to trace him on the 1871 or 1881 census - although he does reappear on the 1891 - any ideas!!

Thanks

Sue

This might be Thomas. Right place - and right occupation - wrong age going by the 1851 census -but he has a son named Charles aged 15 which ties up with the 1851.
