A James Julian COATES, son of Daniel COATES and Elizabeth formerly JULIAN(?) died 15 June 1878 in Queensland

An Emily Josephine COATES, daughter of John Alexander BOOTH died 23 May 1905 in Queensland

Julian James Coates was my great grand father. He left nz with my grandmother's mother Elizabeth Compton (Phillips was her married name) and his wife Emma Coates divorced him. Julian and Elizabeth's abandoned child was Mabel Gipsy Coates Phillips.
My nz cousin emailed me a newspaper clipping today with the story of Julian who also went by the name James Willis. The left Auckland for San Francisco.
