« on: Sunday 07 August 11 14:27 BST (UK) »
Thomas Huntley Wood born 1834 Lyme Regis was said to be the master of the Flying fish... but the only Flying Fish that I can find is an American Clipper..
I would like to know more about both Thomas and the Flying Fish and would appreciate any information at all..

Thank you Cardiff,
Good to confirm that  Thomas was the master of the other vessels.. hope to learn more about the Flying Fish
It is said that the ship met its demise in 1881..

I have just found my great grandfather in the National Archives 1881 records as a seaman late of "Flying Fish" of London, and have just posted http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=572621.new

Just wondering if it may be the same ship?

Hi, have found a record of the Flying Fish when looking for details about William Rich. Berry he is shown as the master on 8th September 1862 when he submitted an "Agreement and Account of Crew (Foreign going ship)".

I haven't managed to find anything else on the ship except that it sunk on Oct 31st 1881 near Cobb Lyme Regis. In 1881 census William was master of the Gensing and was in Angelsey.

I still haven't found anymore connections between my ancestor and "Flying Fish" apart from my original post back in 2011.
