McMullan, Belfast
« on: Thursday 11 August 11 09:36 BST (UK) »
Anyone with an Annabella McMullan in their tree?

Annabella was the child of George McMullan and Margaret McFerron/Ferron, born between 1904-1909, Belfast. Annabella emigrated to Canada, arriving Quebec 2 Sept 1928 and married a David Rielly McNabb in 1930 , British Columbia, Canada.

I have the marriage record Annabella from Familysearch and also her emigration records.

Annabella had one brother that I am aware of-James. I have no information on James apart from he worked on boats, There were also  two sisters Mary and Rose who both remained in N Ireland. Mary is the contact person in 1928 emigration papers.

Family story is that the children were brought up in a home after the death of their parents. Rose, who is my connection, ended up in service as a servant in  Lurgan.

If any of this sounds familiar, would appreciate hearing from you.

Sio already has the marriage-
Marriage of George McMullan and Margaret Fearon  1899
Church    Belfast Roman Catholic Church
Parish    Belfast Urban 6
Civil District    Belfast
County    Antrim

Before any more searching is done, Sio, do you have the family in 1901 and 1911 census records? do you have an address for sister Mary in 1928?

Anna Bella is sometimes written as Anna Bella, Annie Bella, Anna, Bella, etc.

Kingskerswell, I only had the year not the actual date of George and Margaret's wedding so thank you very much for that information, much appreciated.

 aghadowey,
I have the family in 1901 Census living hse 29, Ormonde St, Smithfield Antrim-only child listed is Rose. Cannot locate the family in 1911.
Address for Mary in 1928 is 41 Benaree St, Belfast.

Rosemary Joan, thanks very much for the offer. Hope we have the same birth record-Rose born 31/10/1899, 34 Milton St, Urban 4 belfast.

Hello Sio
Yes it is the same one.  I see Margaret's father was Daniel (fish dealer?) who lived in 1 Milton Street?
Strangely, on LDS pilot there is a John Alesander McFerran McMullan born to George and Margaret on 30 Aug. 1879 .  ?????????????

LDS database lists Birth reg. as John Alexander M'Ferran M'Millen July/Sept.1879 Newtownards district volume 1 page 821

The record Rosemary found says John Alesander Mcferran Mcmullen was born Baugor (which should be Bangor).

Perhaps we are straying away from the original question, but I copied this from Roz Davies' site

George McMULLAN . Bangor a mason; son of James McMullan , a spinner; married Margaret McFerran of Bangor 6 Nov 1876 at Linenhall Presbyterian Church, Belfast

Maybe they are George's parents?
