Records for Saint Michael's, Dun Laoghaire

Does anyone have the vital records for Saint Michael's.
I am looking for the McMullen family from 1880 onwards.
If not where could I obtain the Birth, Marriage and Death records. All help is appreciated.

Unless you can get to the National Library in Dublin to view the microfilms for the parish, then it might be simpler to search Civil records for the area. Dún Laoghaire is in the registration district of Rathdown.

The parish records are on films : Pos. 9071, 9072 and 9073.

Some transcript records for the parish are also available on the pay-website of the Irish Family History Foundation at : www.rootsireland.ie

Like many RC parishes Dún Laoghaire/Kingstown didn't record death/burials

How do people find the graveyards, if there are no death/burial records.

There are civil death records from 1864 - i.e. certs, which will give you various details, but not the place of burial.

To search for RC burials you have to check the individual cemeteries. If the family put death notices in a newspaper then this may mention the place of burial.

The largest cemetery in the area at the time would have been Dean's Grange - which opened in 1865.
