Nassau - Standhaft
« on: Thursday 18 August 11 11:13 BST (UK) »
Hi, I'm trying to work out if I'm on the right lines for a Henry William Standhaft b 1823 and although in places it says Misson, I think its meant to be Nassau.  He appears, IF its the same person to have arrived in 1842, with a Frederick Standhaft to Dover. They are 'strolling musicians' and seem to travel back and forth with the same group of musicians, incl Phillip Laubach, who its seems was quite well known in music circles.

There seems to be quite a few Standhafts, same era, all came from Germany, all musicians! I am wondering how I find out if Freiderick was Heinrich's father/brother/cousin... and if indeed its the same Henry William that married Eliza and went on to have Ada in 1869.

How do I go about finding when he bacame 'naturalised' am assuming there are records of this.

thank you.
Looking for Westleys in Northamptonshire & Barton, Lancs & Darlington, Durham.
