I have information of your great grandfather as Im hoping he is related to our Frederick Roth who was in Merthyr Tydfill and then moved to Barnstaple. I joined the Anglo German FHS who are brilliant and found that the family come from Brand near Plauen in Saxony not far from Dresdon. Carl Oscar is his nephew but I am confused with his adopted daughters ,Mary and Amy? I would love to hear from you.

Hi, have been making enquiries re Carl Oscar Roth. Do you know where he came from in Germany? He is proving to be as elusive ( to a point) as our Frederick August Roth. I think he was interned poss. Isle of Man and was repatriated after the war but obviously returned to Wales, but there are no records for him and this would confirm where he came from. I'd love to have a chat with you at some point we seemed to miss each other last year!
