Could be Christina ~

Passenger Lists leaving UK:

Dept 27 March 1909  on board the Grampian  Glasgow to Halifax:

Christina  McIntyre, domestic serv, 17. Bound for Ottawa

Arrival on 5 April 1909, down as Dairymaid on that listing!

Also a  family headed by a Peter Mcintyre, aged 40 but don't think they're yours

Hello-I to have McIntyre roots. county Bute was also a home to many McIntyres, especially on the Isle of Arran. I do know the museum on Arran has a McIntyre Bible. Grace is a great help and maybe able to assist.

Argyll was the home of many McIntyres too which is where my gr gr grandfather was born. That said, something you may or may not know, it was quite common for female children to take on a mothers maiden name as part of their name. As an example, I have a Janet Taylor McIntyre. Janet Taylor was my gr gr grandmother so the name carries down. Her Husband John, was born in Inverary,Argyllshire in 1828. His parents were James and Catherine(Nee Currie). As to the spelling Mac or Mc-again a choice. my dads brothers spell it Mc, but due to the Canadian military, dad was given no choice on the spelling. Mac. I do know there are connections, but is a road I have not explored yet. My gr grandfather is buried in Auchencairn. sned me a PM if you like with an email, and I can send you more info if you want.

Hi flyderaght,
Your Janet Taylor McIntyre caught my eye, as I have an Angus Taylor McIntyre on my tree, born in Rothesay 1874, his father was born over the water near Skipness. He was Malcom McIntyre born to Angus McIntyre & Katrin Taylor. I have not been able to find any of Malcoms siblings and wondering if there is a connection to yours.

The janet taylor in my tree is my gr gr grandmother. Her parents were William Taylor and Margaret Baird. Janet was born 15 Nov. 1828 in Kilmodan, Argyllshire. No other info on the parents. She married John McIntyre Jan. 20th, 1854. She died on 24 aug. 1884 on the Holy isle. I saw you have family in Bute which were McIntyres. Any on Arran. If so, I would assume there is a connection there.
There is the family bible that is held by the museum on arran if your over that way.

My brick wall.

Hi Marc, I have Angus McIntyre b. 1820 and Dugal McIntyre b. 1822 Skipness. I don't know where they went to after they left Kintyre Peninsula or if they just moved away from Skipness.
Probably no connection, but thank you for replying.

Cheers
