Hello Norrie G

I'm tracking down the burials of my Page ancestors prior to visiting Scotland from Australia next month. David Page (1877) and wife Ann Philp (1886) both died at Lochgelly, and I suspect other members of the wider family may have done so too.

Thanks and regards, Russell (Geelong, Australia)

Hi Norrie,

I've just came across this forum and was wondering if you have any Heigh's as our family came from Lochgelly but I'm unsure where they all died as my grandfather came out to Australia when he was 20 in 1925 and never returned.

So any information would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Louise

Hi there
Don't want to disrupt anyones search for family graves, but can I ask a general question?  As an ex-patriat (of many years) Scot in Australia, I was surprised to see "Loch Gelly, Fife" listed.  I have an ancestor who was born in Loch Gelly Co. Armagh - and I never knew of a similar place in Fife.  Must confess my ignorance of geography/history of Fife - so if anyone has general information re this Scottish location could you give a brief summary?  Could Wikipedia it of course - but thought some "local" info would be really interesting.  Cheers!

"Ihave over 1000  headstone photographs, from LOCHGELLY Cemetery
I can supply the inscriptions from the stones.
I have listed the main SURNAMES from the stones
Please supply the 2 main surnames you are researching
eg (father) David Brown & (mother) Mary Black"
I don't know if any of my ancestors will be listed on the headstones but I am researching the surnames Reid,  Ferguson and Sutherland.
I am trying to trace Donald Ferguson (probably born around 1750) lived in Inverkeithing and married Katherine Sutherland in 1777 and was dead by 1804. They had a daughter Mary who married  Robert Reid in 1804.
 Many Thanks
