1871 census Charles Vincent*completed*
« on: Tuesday 23 August 11 13:38 BST (UK) »
I am looking for the 1871 census record of Charles Vincent with his wife Esther Vincent both born in Piddletown circa 1828.
In 1861 they were in Worth Matravers and in 1881 were in claverley Shropshire along with other family members who had moved to that area I assume for employment. In 1871 I believe they were in the Cerne district.
Any help much appreciated

This couple have a lot of children who would help make it easy to identify in the search, as you didn't mention them I assume it is the wrong ones, but will give them anyway.

Yes I would think so, doesn't it make for good confirmation when you have an actual child's dob and birthplace!

I have birth cert for George who is a twin with Charles both born 1851 Burleston.
After 1871 it looks like all the family moved to Shropshire and had their marriages and children in and around that area and the only one to return to Dorset was my Grandfather William Charles Vincent as a child to live with mothers parents in Bridport He never returned to Shropshire but made his roots in Dorset from whence my father came.
Sorry to ramble on  ;D ;D

Thanks
