Hello George
I wonder if you have this record... 1871 UK Census for George Wright and his family... he married Ellen Louisa Taylor in 1886 in NZ.  I am now trying to find out whether George travelled to NZ alone, or with his family.  George doesn't appear in the UK 1881 census.

With this, my third posting, we should be able to PM each other.

Kindest regards
Kevin

Thanks Janette
The immigration info is spot on... ties in with the 1871 census details of the family.  Many thanks.

Not so sure about the deaths in Christchurch, because George (at least) moved to Auckland to become a well-known race horse trainer and marry the daughter of one of the best in the business.  Having said that, I have no confirmed info re his death, but the NZBDM show a George of the right age dying in 1934 at the age of 72.  Looks like I need to order (yet another) printout from the NZBDM.  His wife Ellen Louisa is a bit of a mystery... there doesn't seems to be a NZBDM record that ties in with her birthdate (1867/8).  The NZ valuation rolls don't help either,  But I'll keep on searching!
Kindest regards
Kevin

Thanks Minniehaha.  Unfortunately, that's not the right George... he wasn't a saddler in Kawhia but a horse trainer in Auckland (a long way from Auckland), and his family is right either.  But Hey... you just saved me from going down a blind alley.

I've since found a record for the death of a GW in Auckland in 1906 at age 43 (which is right), and buried at Purewa Cemetery, which is the same place that his father in law and family are buried.  The Cem Rcd doesn't give any other info. I'll try to validate that through obituaries etc.
Thanks again
Kindest regards
Kevin
