I have a picture of my grandfather's gravestone:  It is in St. Raymond's Cemetery. Listed are:
Patrick 1864 - 1912
Alice 1898 - 1898
Ellen 1860 - 1947
Frank J. 1895 - 1955
Mary Ann Maier (formerly Kiernan) 1897 - 1970
Joseph Maier 1896 - 1985

Long overdue update on my Kiernan’s from Maughera, Cavan:

Following the good advice from FlowersFromCavan, I found marriage record of my ggp Patrick (son of Edward) KIERNAN and Bridget (daughter of Philip) FLOOD, married 1872 in Castlerahan, Oldcastle, Cavan.
And I found baptism/birth records for their 12 children:
     John, b.1873
Henry, b.1874 (1874 baptisms missing), emigrated 1904 to the Bronx, New York,
married Sarah Egan 1922.  Sarah died shortly after birth of their son.
     Edward, b.1876
Mary Elizabeth, b.1878, emigrated ~1902 to the Bronx, married John Kenny, 2 sons, died 1936?
Bridget, b. 1880, apparently died after 1881 and before 1886
     Julia , b.1881, emigrated before 1908 to Manhattan/New Jersey
     James, b. ~1882, at Maughera in 1901 and 1911
     Eugene, b. 1883
     Philip Joseph, b. 1884
Bridget Mary, b. 1886, emigrated 1908 to New York, settled in New Jersey, married
Daniel Francis (Frank) Hogan in 1913, 6 children, died 1971.
     Ann b. 1888, at Maughera in 1901 and 1911
     Patrick, b. 1891, at Maughera in 1901 and 1911

Some of the baptism sponsors: Simon Kiernan, Henry Kiernan, Mary Kiernan, John Kiernan, Mary Flood, and Mary Anne Plunket.

If any of this looks familiar, would love to hear from you.
Thank you

Franktm,
Your Kiernan details are so close, but not quite right for my Kiernans (see my previous post).
Do you know where in Ireland your Patrick Kiernan and Ellen Grimes comes from ?  I did quick look on www.germangenealogygroup.com and found references for Patrick and Ellen’s 1894 marriage cert #7368  (LDS film 1493120); Patrick’s 1912 death cert #2525 (LDS film 1322761); and Ellen’s 1947 death cert #2200127 (LDS film 2200127).  Do you already have these certs ?  I have been lucky with NYC, especially marriage certs, giving full details (not just Ireland) for birthplace.   I crossed the cert #’s over to the LDS FamilySearch microfilm #’s.  It’s a lot cheaper to access microfilms of the original documents from your local LDS Family History Center (~$8/each) than pay ~$20-30 for “heirloom” certs from NY Municipal Archive.
Hope this is helpful for you.

Hi,
Don't know if I am any help but I can confirm that Maghera/Maughera is an abbreviation of Magheraboy Lower anyway (not sure about Upper). It is beside Carrick. Maghera is the postal address in this area  :)

Flood/Plunketts. Without checking any years, families with both those name settled in Queensland Australia.
I was interested in them as my Irish Plunketts also settled in Australia, after Thomas semi retired from the Army at Malta.
Sometimes they just get away from us.
