Yes, I'm having the same trouble. Perhaps we should leave it for Wilcoxon to find it....  ;)

This should be on Denbighshire board so I'll ask for it to be moved.

Thanks for all these ideas.

As for jane : both cross on the marriage certificate. Sarah (first child) was obviously on the way when they married. He is a collier on his MC, a bachelor, aged 21, resident in Minera. Jane is a spinster, 20, no occupation. Born Minera. Father jacob. Wrexham parish church.

As for moving around Robert and jane did. Their son llewellyn was born in Chrickhowell in 1858, and in 1861 they appear in Bilston Sataffs before going back to Denbighshire. Then Robert moved to Cornsay and stays.

I have seen the other - posh - Tubal Cain. Could be named for him though they seem literally classes apart.

Like I say it's his father Robert who died by 1860 who intrigues me. I cannot get any furtehr with his, his wife or any other kids.

Hi Abergen

Morgan found his parents we think. And this bears out with the 1851 ensus that I found.

1. Morgan's find

Also Baptism of Robert Jones, son of Robert Jones, Collier, and Jane Jones*, of Minera, born on 20th January 1832, and Baptism on 5th February 1832

Wern Chapel burials and baptisms are on Scribd:
http://www.scribd.com/doc/28981723/Wern-Chapel-Baptism-Burial-Register-Wrexham

Kind Regards
Morgan
* Note that the Blackwell Index has Jane's name as Price

2. My find

:)

Not sure of this one  but the 1851 Census HO107/2503/744/22  has him as unmarried,  son in law to Thomas Jones, who was married to Jane Jones.  Son in law, in those days , often meant step son.

We think that Robert, snr, died before 1851 and Jane remarried a Thomas Jones sometime after daughter Sarah's birth circa 1843-4.

We think that Robert, senior, married a Jane Price at some time before Robert jnr's birth in Minera on 20 January 1932.

Jane was born Manchester circa 1809 (she's 42 on the 1851).

Two patron submissions on the IGI:

26 June 1830, Wrexham
Jane Price and Robert Jones

This will need checking against the St Giles registers which I don't have.

Children possibly born to Robert Jones and Jane Price from the 1851 census (only Robert 1832 found in the non-conf registers) ~

Robert - 1832
John - circa 1836
Jane - circa 1843
Sarah - circa 1844   -still with Thomas and Jane in 1861 RG09/4286/38/15

All down as b. Minera

Burial of Robert Jones between 1844 and 1851. I've looked on it later and on my Blackwell but he's not there so not much to go on.
