just a note to say there are still Drohans living in upper Irishtown, Clonmel opposite where the old Coach works were, I believe they are of the same family.

Death certificates are not required at time of burial.
Death certs are required for legal purposes ie Disposal & distribution of Assets (property)

It can take a week to get death Certificate.
Post Mortem and coroners report may cause delay for sudden or unexpected deaths.

Is it possible that the children who died young were registered with different first names ?

I was wondering...is this the Catholic Cemetery in Carrick on Suir?

The cemeteries I know of in Carrick are The Friary and St Mollerans, both in Carrickbeg.  There is also the New Cemetery, Faugheen and Churchtown. There is probably others but these come to mind off the top of my head.  Joanne

I think my father is buried in one of the cemeteries there.  How can I find out?

I'm not sure, but I don't think there is burial records.  Do you have his death certificate or registration.  Depending on when it was it may be on irishgenealogy.ie.  It should tell you where he died.  Also sometime the obituaries say where they are to be buried.  It may be in the munster express if there was one.  If you give me a name and a year if you have it, I'm happy to search the irish newspaper archives for you.

His name is JOHN F MURRAY 28/09/1914 - 13/07/1986. I am told he died in Dublin. I applied for his death certificate at Rosscommon and they can't find it. I am not even certain he is in the family grave in Carrick. Maybe his name is just a memorial on the headstone and maybe the date is incorrect? I was brought up in care and have been searching for my father for most of my life. Thanks for looking...it is much appreciated!!

buried at St Mary's cemetery.  There is an obituary in the Munster Express.  I've taken a copy if I can email it to you.
