Bridget Mary Colwell

I'm trying to trace my great grandmothers ancestors.

Bridget Mary Colwell was born around 1862 in Dublin. I know her father was called Henry Colwell, but I'm unsure of her mother's name.

She married Frederick William Bushell on 29 June 1887 and she died 2th November 1941 in Norwich.

If anyone could help me find out her parents name and so on it would be greatly appreciated

Do you have any idea what part of Co. Dublin Bridget might have been born ?

Do you have Henry's occupation from the marriage cert ?

On the marriage certificate it says the Church of St Andrew, London.

There's a line through her father profession

I see that marriage on IrishGenealogy - it's St. Andrew's RC in Dublin City. Is that the record you have ?

It's an RC parish record, so would not show an occupation. It does show an address for the bride and groom of 184 Townsend Street.

Yeah that's the record I have.

They had 6 children and I have all of their birth certificates, on all but one it says "Bridget Bushell formerly Colwell", but on the other it says "Bridget Bushell late Colwell formerly Sherlock" but on the marriage certificate it says she's a spinster.

If you dont have a civil record i.e. marriage cert, then you could order a research cert from the GRO using the details below. A civil cert should show occupations for the groom (sometime for the bride) and the two fathers, although this detail is sometimes omitted if the fathers are deceased.

I do have the marriage certificate, and it says that both fathers are deceased at time of marriage

Just found this marriage ..

I'm thinking it's quite possible that she lied about being a spinster on her second marriage certificate and this may be her. Although the fathers surname is different, the first is the same.

Still no luck with finding anything. I would appear that her father Henry Colwell had died before she got married.
