HUGHES family
« on: Thursday 01 September 11 05:29 BST (UK) »
Hello
I am looking for any information about a man named Naylor Hughes

he was my great grandfather. (his name could have also been spelt Nailor)
i found some info saying that he was on a
England and Wales 1901  census and a 1911 census

i am not able to get onto the information on ancestry.com right now so i was wondering if anyone could help me by looking up the census. please

i am hoping this information is correct could someone please tell me if it is

Father /Head:               James Hughes
Mother/Wife of Head:   Rachel Hughes (does anyone know if it says her maiden name???)
Son:                              William Hughes 17
Son:                              James Hughes  14
Son:                              Fred    Hughes  7
Daughter:                      Thursday Hughes 5
son:                               Walter Hughes 3
Son:                                Nailor Hughes   0

can someone please confirm if this is right ? its meant to be from the 1901 census.

also did this family have anymore children  could someone please look at the
1911 census
i would really be grateful

Naylor hughes was with my grandmother Ida Harnes. i am not sure if they were married.
Naylor apparently died 1936

We aren't allowed to give you information from the 1911 census (copyright/legal stuff!) but there are a number of websites offering a free index search. Try www.1911census.co.uk for example, or GenesReunited.

However, a quick search shows that therer are no more children to James & Rachel.

My understanding is that Traveller meant one of 2 things:

1)  A travelling salesman
2)  A gypsy (sorry - can't think of a politically correct term?!)

The later census, in which Rachel is a widow, has her occupation as "Hawker" which lends credence to the 2nd definition.
