Don't know if this is any connection. From Neilston cemetery, a Monaghan gravestone.

Hi Carole,
in 1852 census from Neilston/Barhead, they were called John & Catherine Monachan ages 28 & 21 this later came to be Monaghan
Francis died Feb 1919 source Scotlands people death notice, born 1891 in Co: Tyrone he is in the Irish census for 1901 & 1911 living with his mothers family McGee's In Co: Tyrone, Ireland.
other son: Thomas born 1887 in Co:Tyrone location  married Elizabeth McGee in St Johns Barrhead.
As you can gather I'm unsure of how to build a family tree, I was in touch with St Johns Church and was told all records were destroyed in a fire.
regards Cathal

Cathal

Are you sure Thomas married in St John's? I have just done a search on Scotlands People and the only Thomas Monaghan I could find marrying an Elizabeth McGee was in Blythswood, Glasgow in 1922. I don't have enough credits left to view the record.

The search I did was thomas mon%n to m%gee and it didn't return anything for a search in Renfrew, only one entry which was in Glasgow

Hi Cathal

You have sent me the certificate from SP of the marriage - I will put the details on here to see if it means anything to anyone - I can't seem to find a death record for either of them on SP, unless it is a death record not accessible online.

24th June 1922 at Howard Street, Glasgow - Thomas Monaghan aged 34 years to Elizabeth McGee aged 31 years.

If I come across anything in Barrhead which may help, I will come back to you.

Regards
Murphyz
