http://italiangen.org/records-search/deaths.php

The Daily Standard Union - Brooklyn - Tuesday 8 September 1914 - has an obituary notice for Anthony McKernan -

Anthony McKernan a native of County Leitrim Ireland died yesterday after a brief illness at his home 1317 Lincoln Place. He had lived in Brooklyn for a number of yearsand was a member of the church of St Matthew - Eastern parkway and Utica Ave where requiem mass will be celebrated. Mr McKernan was 75 years old and survived by a widow Mary A and a daughter Mrs W J Gardiner.

You can view article on http://www.fultonhistory.com/Fulton.html - probably a site we have mentioned before.

Most of your McKernan seem to have come from Draperstown, Magherafelt County Londonderry - so is this the right connection to your family  ???

Hi Sandra,

Thanks for all your help.  It seems we are connected through the Gallagher’s from Leitrim as there is another Gallagher married in.

Can you get any references for these:

William H could be coming up under Howard Joseph Gardiner. Born 30 August 1896. Resides Brooklyn Kings
Type written at the top is the address 955 East 40 th Street 8/6/44 (the same as on the draft for George)
Name & addess of person who will always know him is Anna C Gardiner (mother ) 6517 Ave T. Brooklyn. Kings.
Employer Footform. Shoe shops. 13 West 39 Street. NYC.  892 Flatbush Avenue. Brooklyn.  Kings NY

New York Marriage - 14 February 1867 - Anthony McKiernan to Mary Gallagher

Can you find the marriage to Anna C to William J Gardiner in 1895?

Could this be the father’s death William J Gardiner?

Thanks for all your help it is very much appreciated

Kieran
