Hi I am also researching the family line of James McAuley and Ellen McQuillen.

2nd Married:- Jane McAulay on 14 November 1902
Died 27 June 1936 NSW Australia.
His brother (your interest) is a side line research on mine, I was hoping to gain more information on their parents, then the research developed a life of its own...

Now, that aside, I can tell you that on the 1891 wedding certificate of the James McAuley you are researching, his address is given as 109 Dale Street, Tradeston, Glasgow. My ancestor Michael McAuley had the same address on the 1981 census, so it would appear that they were sharing this address at that time.
I did a further bit of digging and I found additional children of James McAuley and Ellen McQuillen.
