All Saints Church, Wytham - List of graves and plot nos available
« on: Thursday 08 September 11 12:08 BST (UK) »
Hi all
On the wall inside All Saints Church is a plan with numbered plots of 249 graves. Next to the plan is a list of most of the occupants of those graves. The plan and list are dated 1892. Sadly no dates of burials though on the plan or list.

I have copied the list and I am down loading from my camera photos of the plan.
If anyone has an interest in who may be buried where, at the church, let me know and I will be pleased to see if they are on the list.

I shall post this on Berks as well because Wytham was in that county till 1974.

Regards

Nigel

Hi Nigel
If there is anyone with the surname NEALE listed in the Wytham churchyard I would be very interested. My grandfathers family were Neale's and some lived at Wytham but not sure which, if any, were buried there.
Many thanks
Hilary

Hi Hilary
There is one a John Neal in grave nos 89.

I have the PR's for Wytham and in there are many many Neal/e enteries. Do let me know if you want a look up. I shall be having a look as I think I have Neals in my tree.
I shall be back in the morning and let you know.
So let me know who you are looking for?

Hi Nigel
I think there should be a Charles Neale, b 1863 Cumnor, d 1933 Wytham. He was my great grandfather and I assume he was buried at Wytham. I am not certain about any others but if you could tell me if there are any, maybe I could check the names against my family tree and see if they fit? I still have one uncle living at Wytham but only get up there occasionally, and haven't been to the church since I was a child! Interesting that you may have Neal's in your tree, what are the chances that we may be related somehow!
Any help you can give will be much appreciated

Hilary

There is so much info available to you. If I was to put it all in here I would be just transcribing the CD! You would do well to order a copy from OFHS it is OXF-ABo3 and includes Cumnor and Wytham.
I shall pop a few answers to your query in here in just a minute.

Hi Hilary
So Albert, he is a bit more problematic!

There is a choice of 3 baptised in St Michael Church, Cumnor in 1865, 1891 and 1902. I can't see a burial for him in All Saints Wytham either.

So you may need to dig a bit deeper?
