Oakley band.

I'd be grateful if anyone could tell me when the above band was established, and whether they visited America in the late 19th century . Are they known as the 'Royal ' Oakley band ?

Although the band's website is apparently inactive it does say the band was formed in 1864.See;

Hi there,

My half sister and her father were once members of the band and I myself was tought to play the cornet by their band master, Mr Bob Morgan, many moons ago!

If there's anything more I can help you with, please, get in touch.

Arwel  :)

Diolch yn fawr /Thank you.
What really interests me is their early history :
Did they visit America sometime between 1865 and 1880 ?
Did some members stay in the USA ?
Was there a Royal Oakley choir as well ?
Obscure questions, I know - but its to help a distant transatlantic cousin with a dead end.
