Hello Colin,

I am hoping that you are still looking for info on the Lambs, Burns and Hogs. Selby is the husband of my 3rd great Aunt, Jane Burns, 1802 - 1871. I have quite a large tree involving these families but would love to chat via email on a  subject that is haunting me amongst these families.

It is believed that these families may have come from Old Stock Scottish Romany's forced out of Scotland early 1600's. My Nana could speak the language and we always had visitors coming to her house.

Drop me a line via email to leslbat@aol.com if you are still interested.

Thanks,

Les Batt

Hi Les
I will drop you an email over the weekend and yes I am still working on tracing the family tree :) What is weird is that I play guitar and also do singing/songwriting with a mate of mine and last week I started to pen a new song titled "Selby Lamb" tracking the movement from Yetholm to Sunderland and then my Grandfathers move to St.Helens were I was born and live. that is spooky :)

Cheers
Steve
