Wow!!   Thank you so much Carol,  can I be cheeky and ask if you could help me with 'anything' on Annies husband Mackintyre BOSWELL?  Again the only info I have is his date of marriage to Annie at St Edwards in Leek. Address at the time 3 Quarry Low Bank, Mill St, Leek.  ( I do have his death certificate and relevant  info of his life from marriage upto his death).  He was a traveller of Gypsie background,  I'd be so grateful if you could help Carol.  Regards Sterling

Hi

You would need to look at the 1911 entry to establish his birthplace as I can't find a birth for him on freebmd

1911 lookups are not allowed on Rootschat so you would need to buy credits to view that Stockport entry

Just found this baptism - transcribed as MacKintyor Boswell

Christened Ipstones 17.5.1886 - parents William & Lucy

MacIntyre died Stockport 1953 - birthyear shown as 1887

I've checked the 1891 and 1901 but no trace of him

Hi Sterling,

I wondered if you had any more joy with the Mackintyre search?

The suggestions on this thread don't match with the Mackintyre that married Annie Coates and lived in Stockport.

it would be very useful to speak to you and share anything we know.

Thanks,

Carl

Hi Sterling,

My great grandmother is Lavinia (sometimes Louisa) Coates, Annie's sister.  Lavinia's parents are Joseph and Rose (Rose Hanna, Rose Ann).  My grandfather Joseph was born in 1909, 31 Mill Street, Leek.  He came to Canada in 1924 with Barnardo's.  Do you know what happened to the other siblings?  Joseph was living with George in the 1911 census.  Lavinia was in the Cottage Hospital, Leek in 1911.

Dean

Good Morning,

Further to your post regarding Annie Coates,

All of your information is consistent with with our family history and what we have found.

my grandmother is the niece of Annie Coates. my grans father is George who changed his name to Loates after leaving home?? at 17 referring to the census you have shown of 1891 where he was at home with his parents in comparison to the census of 1901 where he married for a first time to a woman called Ethel in stoke who died then re-married to Elizabeth Scott in 1936 who later moved to Yorkshire and was a civil engineer who traveled lived in a caravan with three children all born in different districts, Desmond, Irene and Stanley Stephen. My Grandmother is still alive and has alot of information about the family so we can help in any way feel free to get intouch.

otherwise Good luck with you search
