What is the timescale involved?

Are you sure the surname is Wotherspoon?

The 1861 census has a family called Wetherspoon in Kilbirnie headed by James & Margaret who were both b Glasgow

Hi All the wotherspoons are either from Ardrossan or Kilbrirnie, they worked in the Iron Works in Kilbirnie and when another Iron Foundry was build in Stevenston they moved to Ardrossan, they are all my family but I am looking for one in particular her name being Annie Wotherspoon, daughter of Thomas Wotherspoon and Jean Fyfe, I have the marriage cert. of Annie's marriage to Benjamin Spence, but I dont know where he was born, all I know that his parents were John Spence and Ann louisa Brown

I think this is the family in 1901:

Annie Spence 38, head b. Kilbirnie
John Spence 12
Thomas Spence 9
Benjamin Spence 7
Marion Spence 4

Address: 2 Blythswood Drive Paisley

Have you looked at this entry, Heather? Was Annie a widow by now?
