Larkin
« on: Saturday 24 September 11 18:57 BST (UK) »
Hi

Need help tracing a Dennis Larkin born 15 or 16 June 1899 Belfast, Antrim. I've recently found a border crossing from Canada to US. From what I can make out he was travelling to the US for his brother's funeral in 1943

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I cant even find him leaving Ireland?!

Thanks J

Hi

Boarder crossing details:

Arrival Date: 19 Aug 1943
Port of Arrival: Niagara Falls, New York
Accompained by: Brother James
Departure Contact: Father Gilooah
Age: 44

I can just make out that his address might be 81 Fegans Avenue, Toronto and that he is travelling for his brothers funeral 49 South Main Street, NY (can't make out the area within New York)

If this is the right family in 1911 census then parents are John S. and Mary Ann-

There is a Joseph Larkin on a Canadian Passenger list 30 th June 1913 (which is the nearest I can see if the immigration date was 1914) no brothers with him unfortunately and nothing to specifically identify him.

The SSDI records in the USA show no Death for a Dennis Larkin born 15/16 June 1899 +/- 5 years.

If Dennis returned to Canada, which presumably he did, then the privacy laws may restrict what further information is available.  At the moment we only have the address for brother James in 1943.  Hopefully that may throw up some further information.

Back in a second - think I have seen a family travelling to Canada with most of the names in the post Aghadowey has made.
