Hello John

Thank you so much for confirming the marriage  :)
shame there wasn't any other detail.

Thanks also for the other marriages,  think that John Norman could be Dan's brother and John Howe possibly Elizabeth's brother.......talk about keeping it in the family  ;D

Could I bother you for a couple more marriage checks and if pos any details -

Susan NORMAN & John SPEECHLEY  29 Mar 1829
Daniel NORMAN & Elizabeth THODY  12 Oct 1774

Bear in mind that the transcript only goes up to 1812, and that witnesses to marriages aren't recorded. You need to check the parish register microfilm for the witnesses.

I've done a lot of work on the Thodys of Beds, but don't seem to have Elizabeth in my tree. Must look for her! The Blunham Thodys seem to have been baptists, which is never a good thing

Thanks John.

Myfi - the Elizabeth baptised on 19 Jan 1755 at Cardington was buried on 22 Jan 1755 at Cardington, so it can't be her who married in 1774. Thomas and Ann also baptised an Elizabeth in 1765, but she too died as an infant.

It's a while since I looked at these Thodys, but I'll work on them over the next couple of days.

There's an Elizabeth Norman age 62 buried at Blunham on 17 Jan 1813, which if the right Elizabeth and if the age is accurate, would put her birth as c1751. Daniel Norman age 88 was buried at Blunham on 27 Dec 1838

As I suspected, Daniel and Elizabeth were baptists - the birth of their son Daniel was recorded in Blunham Baptist Church book in July 1777

Have you come across a Mark Norman of Holme Mills Southill in your research? He was a beneficiary in the 1779 will of Anthony Thody of Langford, whose main beneficiary was his nephew Anthony Thody of Blunham
