Pluteci meaning

Hi all,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this or not but I'm looking for some help finding the meaning and family crest for the surname Pluteci.
I originally thought that it was of Romanian origin but have been informed by someone else that the name could have originated in Germany.

If someone could point me in the right direction or already knows anything of this surname then it would be greatly appreciated.

of sure sounds not german  - itīs slavic, but not sure where exactly from.

the person above is stated for russian/polish. so maybe a clue. think a polish in Russia

I have managed to find this list of immigrants working in the UK in 1955 and have found a Pluteci which is my Uncle's father:

I agree that the name may have changed spellings over the years to try and make it sound more local to wherever the family may have relocated to. The name here of Leonte Simion Pluteci is listed as being from Roumani (Romania) but that is the most I have been able to discover.

only a guess - but can be that the name came from the areas above and someone came into Romania and it changed a little bit......

also interesting - dictionary shows for serbian PLUTE > kork.
i looked at russian, ukrainian and polish > no result.
i have no idea if this makes any sense, but Serbia is also next to Romania.
and the ending of the name sounds slavic (ec), but the i is not typical.
and lithuanian shows for plute > crust.
only some thougths.
if someone would find out the meaning......the question is "which language".

don't want to confuse matters - but - my father in law born Rogatyn on the Ukraine ( he is Ukraine ) and Poland border ...he died a few years ago but his Ukranian friend told me that
Plutecki is Poland - Lublin area
Pluteci is Czech / Rumanian - originated from Wallachia ...so I googled Wallacia - the ancient name for an area of Rumania - Vlad the Impaler was Wallachian

I enjoyed that little bit of info - I now know Wallachia was an area of Rumania in 1400s    - we learn something new every day .
