Hi sue I was wondering if we might be related. I'm trying to trace my father in laws family. His name,was Samuel lomas and he was married to Margaret McCarthy. I think Samuels parents were Samuel lomas and Ellen Cullen. Unfortunately we have little info as my husbands father died when my husband was a child If you think this matches please could you contact me. Many thanks

My father in law was from Aston under lyne born approx 1911 and I only have very vague information. I know he had a brother bill/William and that their father was also Samuel but this is all we know. I know they were Catholic. My father in law was married twice firstly to Margaret McCarthy and then to Doris Barnett. We thought my father in laws dob was 30/09/1911 but think even this is incorrect. Is there any connection to your family tree?   We live in Staffordshire england !! I have nothing on Cullen as I've only just started trying to trace this line sorry x

Well it may look we maybe related.....My grandfather was William Lomas born 1909 and his father was Samuel Lomas B 1882 and my grandfather had a brother Samuel Lomas who had around 10 children..andhiswife was called Margaret Lomas...I recall my mother who was a Margaret also talking about too many Margarets in the family ....So if ur Samuel had lots of children...this maybe the right connection....I will send you my private email thou private message in rootschat ..

According to the 1939 register, Samuel Lomas was born 30th September 1912  wife Margaret born 27th July 1916. they had three children at the time and were living at 30A Bridge Street, Stalybridge. Samuel was a Cloth Bailler Army Ordnance (Heavy.)

Samuel Lomas married Nellie Cullen in 1904 at Dukinfield St Marks.
