Gwenllian JOnes born 1786

My G G G Grandmother Gwenllian Jones born in 1786 in Llangattock Carmarthen.
Searching the web I can only find Llangattock at Breconshire and Powys, near Crickhowel.
Is Powys the new name for Carmarthenshire.?

Powys consists of the historic counties of Montgomeryshire, Radnorshire, most of Brecknockshire ( Breconshire ) and a small part of Denbighshire.

There is a Llangadog in Carmarthenshire.  The records for here are at Carmarthen R.O

There is also a Llangadog / llangattock in Monmouthshire.  The records for here are at Gwent R.O

Both of these you can Google for the addresses.  They are both available at the National Library in Aberystwyth.

It just states Llangattock |Carmarthen.
Perhaps it is  llangadog, I am unable to see the origianal at Aberyswyth as I live to far away

Please could someone check out the birthplace of
Gwenllian Jones born  1786 ?Carmarthen  in the 1841 or 1851 Census.
Inthe 1841 census there is also a John JOnes born 1821 Glamorgan
In the 1861 census she is with her son Evan born approx 1815/16 Merhtyr tydfil and Evan mother Gwenllian  Jones born 1786

Can you please clarify some details ?

What certificates have you got ?  Was she ever married ?  Where have you started from ?

If you have census details, could you be kind enough to supply them with your request, as it saves time trawling through !!  If you are new to FH, always remember to write the nos of the Census.

I have had a quick look through but there are some things that do not make sense.  How do you know that the 1861 is the right one

If you can get back with the full details of what you know, will try and help you further.

Am involved in the production of 1901 census for sale when completed for Rhondda \Cynon Taff thought the Glamorgan family history society and Glamorgan archives.

I'm sure if you read it again, you will see that Nainmaddie is asking questions purely to help you. I'm quite sure no offence was intended!

You could clarify a bit more which resources you have already checked, because otherwise how will we know? I'm sure you can appreciate that if Nainmaddie spends ages finding things that you already know, it would be frustrating for you both.

1841 Gwenllian was a butcher (HO107/1415/8/4/11/14), whereas 1861 Gwenllian was "Formerly house servant" (RG9/4055/114/35)
