Maybe this is his birth ?
564/1902    FINNIE    JOHN J    SYDNEY W    MARY    SYDNEY

Maybe his Father's death ?
17178/1950    FINNIE    WILLIAM SYDNEY    ROBERT JOHN    RACHAEL    GLEBE

There are quite a few stories about him on Trove, but I can't see any Photos:

Hi again

Clarence Henry John Thomas serviced in World War 1.  He was 18yrs & 2mths (he lied about his aged born 1901) when he joined the army in 1916.  His NOK is listed as his brother Frederick William Thomas of Erskinville.

Clarence Thomas & Jack Finnie are mentioned in a book "Gangland Sydney" by By James Morton, Susanna Lobez

I think his parents were William J THOMAS & Mary ABARDEN.

Cheers
Genni
